Oh Lord Help Me

This occurred here in Michigan in the mid 1990's. It was summer time. I had taken my children with me to go and see my sister, that lived two hours from us one way. We had a nice day and everything seemed to be going good.

Then on our way home as I was driving down the road, with children in the front and the back. There was a car in front of me going slow, I figured since the license plates said "New Jersey" on them they were either sight seeing, or lost.

I was thinking what I needed to do when I got home. Had to get baths done, pack lunches and get are clothes put out for the next day. Kids school clothes and myself work clothes. All of a sudden my youngest says from the back seat "Mom look at that turtle" he was looking out of the right side of the car, onto the road.

I happen to glance over to see if I could see it, and when I looked back at the road, the people in the car from out of state, slammed on there brakes. I had no time to even try to slam on my breaks. My kids faces flew in front of my eyes, and I yelled out in my mind, "OH LORD HELP ME".

All the cars went to the side of the road as if there was someone on the road making them do this. I went down the center of the road, and then back in front of the car that was still stopped. I looked back in my rear view mirror to see who was holding everyone there. I seen no one with the naked eye. Soon as I was safe again, the cars all at one time went back on the road and continued on there way.

I got pass the car and just said "Thanks Lord for answering my prayer at the last moment". The rest of our drive home went fine. I felt sunshine all around not only, myself and my children but the whole car. Even though it was misty out, to me we had sunshine.

A woman was waiting on a red light at an intersection. A white wolf came along and sat down on the road in front of her car, and was staring at her with its eyes... The light turned green and she started honking at it with her horn, the drivers behind her started honking too. The wolf didn't budge. Then, a car came racing through the intersection from her right side, running through a red light... Then, the wolf got up and let her pass, saving her from a terrible accident... TRUE STORY! Truly, God sends us his angels all the time, but we are too selfish to see it.

I was going through a very tumultuous time in my life. I felt like my marriage was failing and I was having money problems. The biggest pressure on me was the worry that I might lose my kids if I got a divorce. I prayed to God one night and asked him for peace. I quoted the scripture in my prayer where Jesus said "My peace I give to you".

I woke up the next morning with parts of a bible verse in my head. The phrase in my head was "The Lord lift up his contenance upon thee".

The strange thing was that I didn't remember ever hearing this verse before. When I awoke and remembered this verse, I went to Google and typed in "Lift up his contenance" as a search.

I was astonished to learn that this verse exists in the bible and that it references the peace that I had prayed for. The verse was Numbers 6:26 - "The Lord lift up his contenance upon thee, and grant thee peace".

The Lord truly does move in mysterious ways.

This moved me like you would not believe. I took my kids to church the next day for the first time in a year. That morning in church was very spirit filled for me. I was overflowing in emotion. Praise God!
