Astral Projection Is Really Scaring Me

I started having Out of body experiences a few years ago but thought they were dreams. But one time that I saw/felt myself floating out of my physical body, I knew it wasn't just a dream. That time my soul floated up to the ceiling, I got so scared that I was trying my hardest to get back into my physical body. I then woke up and my body felt numb from my head down to my toes. I just stayed still until the numbness went away a few minutes later.

I was embarrassed to tell anyone what I experienced because I wasn't familiar with astral projection at that time. But I ended up telling a few close family members. I honestly never had a name for it until a couple of days ago when it happened to me again. But before this last time, there was a time that my soul flew passed the ceiling this time, passed the blue sky & clouds, into the galaxy & stars. I mean I shot up so fast that I became panicked! I started to pray because I felt that the next level up was going to be Heaven, and by me going to Heaven it meant I was going to die. I prayed so hard for God to send me back down into myself. That's when my soul started to slow down. Then I started to slowly go back down, then WOOOOSHHH... I flew back down into my physical body so fast. It felt exhilarating but at the same time I was scared. Every time this happens, I feel a vibration when my soul leaves my body and I feel numb every time my soul returns.

I honestly do not like when this happens to me. I am so scared to fall asleep because of it. I am so scared that something bad will happen or that I might see other souls or see something evil. Can someone tell me how to prevent this? I pray but sometimes it still happens. I fall asleep scared. Can someone help me out here? Thank you and God bless.

Ok so this OBE is no joke... I have my husband hold me at night so that it would be harder to AP. Well, now that it's harder for me to leave my physical body, now I spin out of control & feel dizzy when I come to. Just a couple of nights ago, I was spinning out of control due to trying to return. As I'm spinning, I'm trying to grasp on to anything to kp me from leaving. As I try & grab onto my bed sheet, my fingers rubbed on the sheets creating sparks! When, I came back into my body, my fingers hurt. So it is starting to feel like I'm being pulled rather than "leaving" at my own will. I'm more scared than ever.

thanks guys for sharing. I'm still strugling with AP. It died down some for a few weeks but then started happening all over again. This time, it seems very persistant in a "bad" way. Its a very uneasy feeling. One time I fell asleep holding my son who will be 2yrs old this month & it happened, taking my son up with me. I began praying hard and asked to please leave my son alone. I noticed his legs going up first, that's what really scared me! I blessed my house and sometimes wear a rosary around my neck & pray before I fall asleep. It helps.

I actually had this 'thing' happen to me. Sometime ago I watched a video article on discovery channel about AP, and at night before going to sleep I pondered "Man, It would be cool to experience something like that." and began doing what discovery channel showed- w/c is to concentrate and relax then put into mind the intent (I've always had a very curious side in me). Then I awoke floating through my bed (I never noticed seeing body) and I was like Oh s**t I'm having a nightmare! It was so fast, that I realized I'm floating way above earth and can literally see it as I climb higher and higher. Then I was super-scared about it, and Imagined myself falling to my bed and eventually I saw myself plumetting down to earth and I begin to awaken with my eyes half-closed. I can't breathe (It kind of feels like it) nor move a muscle except for my toes. I was very scared at that time and began to think oh, that's astral projection. "Sweet." lolz 😆

few years before during a heavily raining night, I had a weird experience where in which I felt like I had lost total control over my body. I felt like I was out of my body. I wanted to get in back. I too felt scared like you did Triana.

But after sometime, I could come back to normal position. It was indeed a scary experience. I had similar experiences couple of times too after that but it seems that I have come out of it now.

James, I've experienced this a several times before, especially when I take a nap in the afternoon. I want to wake up and I struggle, unsuccessfully, to open my eyes. A few seconds later I fall asleep again. This happens about several times until I'm finally able to wake up. Here's something to try the next time you wake up and find yourself unable to move: concentrate on moving your little toe or little finger. Gradually, you should regain movement in the rest of your body.

I'm dealing with the same thing right now... I don't know if this was technically AP or not, but last night I got trapped in a lucid dream. I kept trying to wake up, and people kept telling me I probably couldn't go back. I did wake up several times completely anesthetized, but not for long.

AP is probably one of the scariest things that can't actually hurt you.

Perfectly normal things seem scary at night, daylight is comforting. It's great that you weren't scared during your nap. Maybe if you do this often, you can carry the calm feeling to bedtime and the nighttime fear will pass.

thanks spiricat. I just don't know how to overcome the fear. Today, I actually allowed myself to relax right before I napped. When I was falling into a "dep sleep" I was thinking of joining my husband & son at the park, but nothing happened. So I don't know what to think abot that. I did let go of the fear then. I just don't know why i;m so scared at night.

Stop thinking about it so much and do your best to accept that this is a normal thing that happens to everyone... Because it is. When we fall asleep at night our souls travel. Most of us don't remember it when we wake up and just refer to the images we can recall as dreams. When you think about something a lot you're actually telling your body that you want more of it and it will happen even more.

It will help you to learn more about what astral projection really is and what the possibilities are (do a google search for "astral projection" or "out of body experience"). You can meet loved ones who have passed on, go to places you've always wanted to visit and so on. You might find, in the end, that it's something you actually want:) A lot of people want this.

Stay calm and avoid fear. If it is something you do not want, make a firm request for it to stop. It will.
