Creating Your Reality: Exercises

It is a good ideal to keep a journal, with written entries even before you start the creation process. A journal provides a window into who we are. Your current beliefs will be reflected on the pages and can show you down the road how far you've come. You can keep track of what does and does not work for you. I have kept a journal for years and marvel at how I've changed and grown. We also have a tendency to forget the things we've accomplished and can use the journal to motivate us.

Affirmations
When you got something you wanted in the past you probably thought about it frequently. Repetition firmly implants the idea of what you want to create in your subconscious. Affirmations are positive thoughts that are repeated over and over. Affirm what you want in present terms, such as, "I have unlimited abundance." Or "My company attracts multitudes of customers."

Creating Your Reality: ExercisesForm follows thought and by holding new thoughts, you can create new realities. So listen to yourself. What are you saying? "Life sucks", "People are jerks", "Good things always happen to other people, not me", "I'm dumb", "This is too hard", "I don't deserve that", "See, I knew it would happen like that", "I can't do that", "That's impossible". If so, readjust your thoughts!

Because your thoughts set up the model of what you draw to you, it is important to think about what you want. It is also important to think in positive ways. Positive thoughts and emotions draw what you want to you. But don't be afraid of your negative thoughts and start to worry; just dismiss them as you would a small child who doesn't know any better. Simply keep a positive attitude and show it a better way to be. For every negative thought, simply place a positive one beside it. For example, "I'm not good enough for that job." Can be replaced with, "I am an excellent candidate for that job."

Here are some of the primary ways to use affirmations:

In Meditation or while relaxing: We can use affirmations silently during meditation, especially either after first waking up, or right before sleep (also known as the hypnagogic state or the hypnopompic state).

Spoken: We can say our affirmations (either out loud, or to ourselves) during mundane chores, or whenever we think of it. Ịf we are attempting to increase our self-esteem, then we can say them while looking at ourselves in the mirror. Another spoken option is to record the affirmations (or a speech) and play them back to ourselves, either while driving, or putting around the house.

Written: The redundant writing of our affirmations, while diligently thinking of them during the process, will embed the affirmation in our mind. We can also write out our affirmations and leave them in appropriate and obvious places. For example, if a person was trying to lose weight, they could post, "I am thin and beautiful" on the refrigerator door!

With others: If we have friends, or loved ones, that are sensitive to our goals, we can exchange affirmations, and recite them to each other. We can also request that they state our affirmation to us, to reinforce our beliefs. They can do this with such affirmations as: "Anne! You are indeed a better listener!"

Singing and chanting: Learn and sing songs that fit our intended desire, not the typical songs of loss and destitution. We can also create and sing our own affirmation songs that suit our needs.

Some of the venues that we can use affirmations are accepting ourselves, feeling good, health issues, relationships, creativity and divine love and guidance.

Hypnosis
Our subconscious mind is a wonder giant of creation, but it is rather "thick headed" and just processes imagines and thoughts that are sent to it from the conscious mind. Hypnosis is a wonderful way of re-programming the subconscious mind.

To effectively reach the subconscious mind, we have to enter into an altered state of awareness. We cannot program it as easily while in a total aware state (beta). We need to get into alpha (or preferably theta), to make our messages more clearly heard.

There are many ways to get into deep alpha, or theta (self-guided tapes, meditation, physical relaxation techniques) so just select whatever one really relaxes you. You should be relaxed enough that your body becomes numb (you lose the conscious direct contact with it.)

Once you are totally relaxed, you can make precise, positive affirmations directly to your subconscious mind. You can also give yourself post-hypnotic suggestions such as "smoking cigarettes make me feel nauseas."

Be sure to only give one suggestion to the subconscious mind at a time.

Maximize the Hypnagogic State
This is the border state of consciousness between sleep and wakefulness. This state has been found to be accompanied by a distinct physiological characteristic, relaxation, decreased EEG tracings showing theta waves production (4-7 cycles per second.), slow eye movements (SEM's), less activity of the frontalis (muscle of the forehead). It is also known as "body asleep/mind awake). Whenever you visualize in this state, it is far more powerful then in beta. It's basically you traveling less distance to get to the source. The veil of separation from the subconscious mind is half breached and primed for input.

Imagination
Be now what you want to be and you will! Don't wait for an event or object to manifest before you live the quality you think it will give you!

To expand your thinking is to develop your imagination. Your imagination is greater in its scope than you might think. It is the closets link to your soul. It is not bound by your past programs, beliefs, and fears. Imagination was given to you so you could transcend your physical world. It gives you the ability to step outside of your personal limits and unleash your greatest potential.

Even when we don't try, we manifest what we imagine whether that is scarcity, abundance, or whatever. Use your most powerful tool to your benefit, but remember to "see" what you want, not what you don't have. Make your desires present tense for "tomorrow really is today."

Keep the Channel Open
If you're magnetizing for money, do not restrict yourself by saying, "I want more customers." Because this limits the avenues for which additional money could be derived. Instead, ask for a specific amount from the abundant universe. Let your higher self have free reign over where it comes from (there are a plethora of resources so why restrict it to one?) Same thing would apply if you were looking for love. One specific person should not be concentrated on, but the right person, regardless.

Inflow-Outflow
This is similar to the ebb and flow of a tide. When the tide goes out, it allows more to flow back in. When we give, we allow more in. The people we see around us who are unhappy are often those who hold back their tide, allowing nothing to flow back in. When something that cannot flow, such as air, a tide, or abundance, it becomes stagnant. Regardless of which, it is all energy, and energy must flow. It is a natural process to let out our natural love. When we do so, we feel great. If we keep it in tightly, then we don't have any room for exterior love.

We must realize that in giving, we will also be open to receiving, and thus fulfill our dreams. When you keep the inflow-outflow happening, you are abiding by natures law, as it doesn't like a vacuum. In the end, giving becomes the reward, even when it is to yourself.

Examples of the outflow-inflow process is when we show appreciation to others for what they have done; giving away extraneous items that we no longer need; treating ourselves every so often to a luxurious or fine item, giving away a portion of our income, and finally, thinking of new ways to give and receive.
