I am a freelance writer of poems, short stories and lyrics and I also write the occasional column. I have the beginnings of my first book underway and expect to have it completed before the end of 2008.

I have lived in Northwest Florida for the past 11 years although I am a native of Cleveland, Ohio. I love the arts in all of its many forms and I am thrilled to have found this community. Locally, I volunteer my time and talent as a member of the Board of Directors of the Northwest Florida Arts Council and the Belmont Arts Center.

I am an avid tennis player (I play at least 3 times a week) and I enjoy watching College Football and College Basketball and Professional Baseball. I have two daughters Ellen 7 and Emma 11 who live here as well and with whom, I spend a great deal of wonderful time.

My parents and my four siblings (one brother, three sisters) are all thriving and living in various parts of the country: California, Ohio, Tennessee and Mississippi. We are very close and we travel to see each other frequently. My true friends are very important to me and fairly few (there is nothing more important than family and friends).

I do consider collaborations, and individualized or personalized works may be commissioned. Reach out to me should you require titles, quotes or lyrics etc. (freelance) at: leonwalker [at]

Cards, prints and posters of my writings will be forthcoming on a variety of creative backdrops.

I remember him to be a man of few words and among all of his grandchildren, he spent lots of quality time ...
