I am the proud Mom to five year old Sarah. She is my greatest achievement ;-).

Prior to becoming disabled, I was living my little girl dream of riding professionally; working towards a spot on the United States Equestrian Team.

An accident in 1998 ended that dream, and life as I'd known it. I sustained a traumatic brain injury and was forced to relearn how to read, write, walk and talk again. Sometime later, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I wanted to give up, I tried; but something wouldn't let me. That "something" was my first service dog, Dewey.

Our incredible story has been featured on TV, in magazines, and in my first book, "Canine and Abled, Taking The Dis Out of Disabled".

I am blessed to be able to share my story in motivational form, and let people know the good things God has done in my life. I've been given the gift of educating people about the wonderful benefits that service dogs provide for their partners with disabilities. I've been given a HUGE gift of the daughter I'd yearned for, yet was told would be impossible due to medical complications. God makes all things possible--He can even give us the ability to turn tragedy into triumph!

The Lollipop Lesson - How God Used my Little Girl to Awaken My Grieving Spirit on 2008-01-05

It's been a difficult year to say the least. My daughter, service dogs and I lost our home due to abuse right about this time last year. We've depended upon the kindness of others to provide temporary shelter; and are truly grateful. For a while after the attack, I was numb. Post Traumatic Stres...
